# Ireland MCP

Ireland MCP is a public, read-only Model Context Protocol server for Irish public data. It needs no API key, account or login.

Install:
- Claude connector: add a custom connector named Ireland MCP with the endpoint URL and no authentication.
- ChatGPT: enable Developer Mode connectors, create an MCP connector, use the endpoint URL and no authentication.

- ireland_describe: arguments and metadata for one source/operation.
- ireland_call: execute an operation by source and operation name; cite returned source/licence metadata.
- ireland_about: server, policy and citation guidance.
- search: cross-source search.
- fetch: fetch an ireland:// resource or search hit.
- nearby: place-aware shortcut.

Toolsets:
- Default is lean.
- All tools: add ?toolsets=all.
- One source: /mcp/x/{source-id} or ?toolsets={source-id}.

Source domains: stats, law/politics, places/property, environment, transport, energy and economy. Data remains under each publisher licence; responses include source and licence metadata where available.
